FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND POLICIES

Please review the FAQ and policies below before ordering. Most of the questions that I get are answered here.

SITE UPDATES/COLLECTIONS

Fabric collections and handmade items are updated often as items are sold and new stock is added. Please be aware that some items sell out quickly, and be prepared to order accordingly! I announce specific dates and times for all of my updates in my newsletter, so if you are interested in these items please sign up.

I take custom orders depending on my schedule, and I often don’t repeat previous designs. I do however ask for suggestions on what to make next in my newsletter so that I can make what you’d like to buy!

ABOUT THE COLLECTIONS

What is your fabric made out of?
All collections consist of quilt-shop quality fabric. Except for a handful of fabric, all items are 100% woven cotton. Material content for every item is listed in its description.

ORDERING INFORMATION

What kind of handmade items do you make?
All kinds! I love fabric, and sewing, and making pretty things out of fabric!

The fabric/handmade item I want sold out! How can I order some?
Some items go VERY quickly once it is listed. I try to stock popular items as often as I can. Sometimes I can replenish listings, and sometimes I cannot. It is best to purchase an item immediately as I may not be able to make or source the piece again and I cannot always accept custom orders. Fabric goes VERY quickly – some within a few minutes and most within an hour. Please read my newsletters to find out when my updates will be. Sold out items are not available for purchase.

How can I place a custom order?
Please contact me with what you have in mind.

Can I get multiple handmade items?
Unfortunately, I can no longer fill bulk orders below a certain amount, due to the increasing demand. If you see an item that does not have the quantity you need for yourself, your family, your friends, or your bridal party, please just email me at dee@honey-dee.com or send me a message and I will update it for you asap! I do however do bulk, custom orders for over 35 items, depending on the order!

What size is a fat quarter?
Fat quarters are 18 inches by 21 inches.

This order is a gift, can you gift wrap and include a note?
I do not currently offer gift wrapping, but I’d be happy to include a handwritten note! Just write what you would like the note to say in the note section of your order at checkout.

Do you offer discounts?
Because each piece is either handmade or hand-designed, and quite time consuming, I do not offer discounts for multiple items, or discounts upon request. Join my newsletter, as I often have flash sales or discounts announced there!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

How should I take care of my batik fabrics?
Batik fabrics are dyed with handmade patterns using a wax-resist technique. This luxurious textile requires special cleaning methods to extend the life of this decorative material. Whether you own a handmade batik blouse, or a dress or shirt made from this delicate fabric, it is important that you properly care for your batiks to keep the colors vibrant and the cloth in good condition.

Clean batik fabrics in cold water with similar colors on a gentle or short wash cycle. Use a standard household washing machine or by hand, but with a gentle laundry detergent. Wash a new batik design in one or two additional cold rinses to remove excess dye from the fabric. Do not use ammonia or other harsh bleaches. Bring your batiks to a professional dry cleaner to be cleaned if they are very thin or have additional embellishments.

Toss the washed batik fabrics into the dryer on a warm temperature setting until they are completely dry. Do not twist or wring the fabric when removing excess moisture. Air-dry them instead (away from direct sunlight) if they have adornments or decorations on them.

Iron batiks on a low or medium heat setting if they become wrinkled. Do not use a garment steamer or steam setting when ironing, because it may distort the fabric. Place thin pieces of cotton cloth on both sides of the batik fabric while ironing. This offers additional protection against fabric distortion.

Fold batik fabrics and store them away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and distortion when they are not being used or displayed. Place fabrics in airtight plastic bags during long-term storage to protect them against moths and other potential damage

SHIPPING/RETURN POLICY

How long should my item take to arrive?
I usually place your package in the mail very quickly. Typically it will be mailed 1-3 business days after your order is placed. Please note, packages will take a little longer to ship during the holidays (just a few days!). If I am running a flash sale, giveaway, or you order ordering during the holidays, I may need a few extra days to ship your order. Please be aware that during the pandemic, there have been reported shipping delays.

Do you accept returns?
At this time, all sales are final. There are no returns, refunds, cancellations, or exchanges due to the personal nature of fabric. But, please contact me if there are any issues. I cannot be responsible for wrong addresses or USPS issues. Item descriptions and photos should be looked at carefully to note size, materials, and small variations in each pair of handmade earrings before purchasing. Although fabric is not defective, please note it is handmade and will not look manufactured by a machine, so little *slight* imperfections are part of the charm!

WHOLESALE REQUESTS

Do you take wholesale orders?
Yes! This is a large part of my business. Please contact me at dee@honey-dee.com for more information.
